Terms of Use

Last updated: July 4, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the BookBook app (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not accept the terms, please do not use the App. Because you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies; mandatory law, consumer rights, and App Store rules remain reserved.

2. License

You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to use the App on Apple devices you own for personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer, or attempt to access the source code of the App except where expressly permitted by applicable law.

3. Premium Subscription and Purchases

4. Your Data and Backup Responsibility

All content you enter in the App (books, notes, photos, etc.) belongs to you. Your data is stored primarily on your device; BookBook currently backs up your library automatically to your personal iCloud Drive space and also provides export tools. You are responsible for keeping your data safe and exporting it when needed. The developer is not responsible for data loss caused by device loss, hardware failure, operating system issues, iCloud service interruptions, deletion of the app, or similar reasons.

5. Third-Party Content and Services

Book search results, cover images, and book metadata (title, author, page count, publication year, etc.) are provided by third-party sources such as Google Books and OpenLibrary. The accuracy, currency, and completeness of this content are not guaranteed. Unavailability of these services or changes to their content are outside the developer's control. You agree to use downloaded cover images only for personal library tracking; copyrights in the images belong to their owners.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use the App for an unlawful purpose, in a way that infringes the rights of third parties (including copyrights), or in a way that disrupts the operation of the App or connected third-party services.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, logo, interface, code, and the "BookBook" brand, is the intellectual property of the developer and is protected by applicable law. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you other than your own content entered into the App. The "BookBook" name shown on cards created with sharing features is within reasonable promotional use.

8. Disclaimer of Warranty

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". THE DEVELOPER MAKES NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, ARE DISCLAIMED.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for loss of profit, loss of data, loss of reputation, or indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages.

10. Changes and Termination

The developer may update the App, its features, and these terms at any time, and may discontinue offering the App with reasonable notice. The current version of the terms will be published on this page; continuing to use the App means you accept the current terms. If you violate the terms, your license ends automatically.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. For disputes, Istanbul (Central) courts and enforcement offices have jurisdiction. For consumer transactions, your right to apply to consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts in your place of residence remains reserved.

12. General Provisions

If any provision of these terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid. The developer's failure to exercise a right does not mean waiver of that right. These terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties on the subject.
