This Privacy Policy explains how the VOLO Finance mobile application ("App") handles your personal data. Your privacy is important to us, and the App has been designed with the principle of collecting as little data as possible.
VOLO Finance does not operate accounts, advertising, tracking, or analytics systems, and it does not collect your portfolio data on developer-operated servers or make that data available to the developer. In version 1.1.0 and later, if you use the optional iCloud backup feature, the app data described below is transferred through Apple CloudKit to your private iCloud database.
This policy applies to all versions of VOLO Finance. iCloud Backups were introduced in version 1.1.0; the iCloud provisions in this policy apply only when version 1.1.0 or later is installed and the user uses that feature. Versions 1.0.x do not include iCloud backup; data remains on the device or is manually exported by the user as a JSON file.
The developer does not collect personal data through the App. Specifically:
The following data is stored locally on your device:
The “Delete All Data” option in the App deletes local app data. Uninstalling the App or resetting the device may also remove local data; however, previously created iCloud backups may remain in the user’s iCloud account until they are separately deleted.
iCloud backup is off by default. A user may create a manual backup with “Back Up Now” or enable automatic backup. When automatic backup is enabled and app data has changed, the App attempts a backup as it moves to the background.
An iCloud backup may contain:
Backups are stored using Apple CloudKit in the user-owned private database within the App’s iCloud container. The private database is not public, is not shared with other users, and is not visible in the developer portal. The data counts against the user’s iCloud storage quota and is subject to Apple’s iCloud security protections.
Manual or automatic backups created on the same calendar day overwrite the same daily record. Up to 5 backups are kept. Up to 3 backups may be locked, and locked backups are not removed by automatic cleanup. A user may explicitly delete any backup, including a locked backup, from within the App. Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete iCloud backups.
iCloud backup requires an available iCloud account, iCloud Drive, an internet connection, and sufficient iCloud storage. Turning off the iCloud feature does not automatically delete existing backups.
The App allows you to export your data in JSON format and restore it later. The user chooses where the exported file is stored and is responsible for its storage, sharing, and security.
The App connects to third-party API services to display current market data. During these connections:
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Local data security depends on your device’s screen lock, encryption, and operating-system security. iCloud backups are protected by Apple account security and CloudKit’s account-based access and encryption measures. No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure.
iCloud backup is optional, and automatic backup can be turned off at any time. Local data can be removed using the in-app deletion option. Individual iCloud backups can be deleted from Settings > Data > iCloud Backups. You may contact us at the email address below with questions about your data.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published within the App. In the event of significant changes, a notification will be provided within the App.
